The technology is based on a patent filled at the end of 2010 by the University Bordeaux I, the Polytechnic Institute of Bordeaux and the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research).

The ISM (Institute of the Molecular Sciences) was able to develop a laboratory reactor which allows to produce in small quantities (at the size of some milliliters) these Janus particles  (with metal, with carbon, with conductive polymers).
The team proceeds the manufacturing of a prototype which will allow to make volumes at the liter scale.
